A detail in an object can change how we think about a space. A material can suggest an identity. Varia follows these connections, drawing on different ways of thinking to find an approach that belongs to the project.

Varia is a multidisciplinary design consultancy founded by Jai McCartney on the Gold Coast.

With a Diploma of Design and ongoing architectural studies, Jai brings together visual thinking, an interest in materials and experience in collaborative making.

From the Littoral Lantern sculpture to client visualisations and conversations about the built environment, the practice grows through projects that cross familiar boundaries.
